How to book a restaurant with AGNT

From a WhatsApp message to a confirmed table — the full booking walkthrough with real Bali venues.

This guide walks through a real restaurant booking on AGNT, step by step. You send a message, Andy finds the right place, you confirm, and you get a reminder before your reservation. The whole thing takes under a minute.

Prerequisites

  • An AGNT account connected to WhatsApp or Telegram.
  • No technical setup required — this is a consumer workflow.

Step 1 — Open WhatsApp or Telegram and message Andy

Open the chat with your AGNT agent (Andy) on WhatsApp or Telegram. Type what you want in plain language. Be specific about what matters — area, cuisine, vibe, party size, time. Examples that work well:

  • 'Table for 2 in Canggu tonight around 7, somewhere with good pasta'
  • 'Dinner for 4 in Seminyak on Saturday, outdoor seating, seafood'
  • 'Quick lunch near Batu Bolong, just me, nothing fancy'

Andy parses your intent, party size, area, and time from the message. You do not need to fill out a form or pick from dropdowns.

Step 2 — Review Andy's suggestions

Andy searches the venue graph using semantic matching against 35 intent patterns (date night, quick lunch, sunset drinks, group dinner, and so on). Within a few seconds you get back two to four options ranked by relevance.

Each suggestion includes the venue name, area, a one-line description of why it matched, and available time slots. For example:

  • La Brisa (Echo Beach) — beachfront seafood, open-air, tables at 19:00 and 19:30
  • Mosto (Berawa) — handmade pasta, garden courtyard, 19:15 available
  • Ji Terrace by the Sea (Seminyak) — rooftop Japanese-Peruvian, 19:00 and 20:00

If none of the options work, tell Andy what to change: 'something closer to Berawa' or 'later, like 8:30'. Andy re-searches with the updated constraint.

Step 3 — Confirm your booking

Reply with the venue you want: 'La Brisa at 7:30' or just 'the first one at 19:30'. Andy sends a booking request to the venue's agent through the A2A protocol. The venue agent checks real availability and responds within seconds.

You get a confirmation message with the venue name, date, time, party size, and a booking reference. If the slot was taken between the search and your confirmation, Andy tells you immediately and offers the next available time.

Step 4 — Get your reminder

AGNT sends a reminder two hours before your reservation. The message includes the venue name, time, address, and a Google Maps link. If you need to cancel, reply 'cancel my booking' and Andy handles the cancellation with the venue agent.

Reminders go to the same channel you booked on — WhatsApp or Telegram. No app to install, no notification settings to configure.

Step 5 — Rate your experience

The morning after your booking, Andy asks how it went. Reply with a quick rating — 'great food, slow service' or a number out of five. Andy stores this in your taste profile so future recommendations get sharper over time.

Your ratings are private. They train your personal agent, not a public review platform. The venue sees aggregated satisfaction scores, never individual reviews tied to your name.

Step 6 — Watch your preferences improve

After a few bookings, Andy stops suggesting places you would not pick. If you always skip fine dining, Andy deprioritises it. If you keep booking sunset-facing spots, Andy weights that pattern higher. The memory layer updates after every interaction — no manual preference setup required.
