AGNT for groups — booking for parties of 6+
How to book a large-party dinner through Andy — capacity checks, deposit handling, and group reminders.
Group bookings are harder than solo reservations. Not every venue can seat eight, not every kitchen handles large parties on a Friday night, and some places require a deposit for groups. Andy handles all of this — you specify the group size, Andy filters for capacity, confirms availability, and manages the deposit if the venue requires one.
Prerequisites
- An AGNT account connected to WhatsApp or Telegram.
- Know your group size and preferred date — Andy needs both to search effectively.
Message Andy with the details: party size, area, date, time, and any preferences. Be explicit about the number — Andy treats group bookings (6 or more) differently from regular ones. Examples:
- 'Dinner for 8 in Canggu this Saturday, somewhere with sharing plates'
- 'Birthday dinner for 12 in Seminyak, needs a private area'
- 'Team lunch for 10 near Berawa, Friday noon, budget-friendly'
The party size triggers the group-dinner intent pattern, which filters the venue graph for places that can physically accommodate the group. Venues without large-table capacity are excluded before ranking begins.
For groups of 6+, Andy sends a booking.search envelope with the party size to each candidate venue's agent. The venue agent checks against its actual table configuration — not just total capacity, but whether a contiguous table or combinable setup exists for that size on that date.
Venues that cannot accommodate the group respond with a capacity_unavailable status. Venues that can respond with available time slots and any group-specific conditions (minimum spend, set menu required, deposit).
This step takes a few seconds longer than a regular search because Andy is querying live availability, not cached data.
Andy presents the venues that can seat your group, with specifics. A typical response:
- La Laguna (Berawa) — long communal table for 10, outdoor, available at 19:00, no minimum spend
- Motel Mexicola (Seminyak) — private dining room for 12, set menu IDR 350k/person, 19:30 available
- The Lawn (Canggu) — beanbag area for 8-10, casual, available from 18:00, IDR 500k deposit required
Each option includes any conditions: set menus, minimum spend, deposit amounts, and whether a private area is available. This information comes directly from the venue's knowledge pack, not from a generic database.
Pick your venue and confirm: 'Motel Mexicola at 7:30'. Andy sends the booking.confirm envelope to the venue agent. If the venue requires a deposit for groups, Andy tells you the amount and provides a payment link. The deposit is processed through Stripe and recorded in the Commerce Ledger.
If no deposit is required, the booking confirms immediately — same as a regular reservation. You get a confirmation message with the venue, date, time, party size, and any conditions (set menu, dress code).
Two hours before the reservation, Andy sends the standard reminder: venue name, time, address, Google Maps link. For group bookings, Andy also includes a short shareable summary you can forward to the group chat — venue, time, address, and any need-to-know details (dress code, deposit paid, set menu selected).
If someone in the group needs to drop out and the party size changes, message Andy: 'we are now 7 instead of 8'. Andy updates the booking with the venue agent. If the reduced size changes the table assignment or removes a minimum-spend requirement, Andy lets you know.
